So, this cool thing happened on August 12 for Hyundai fans.
Hyundai unveiled a version of the Hyundai Genesis that you’d think was a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but not really. Follow along. It’s called the Hyundai Vision G, and it had a grand reveal in Los Angeles.
Executives from Hyundai confirmed that while this has the look and feel of a Genesis Coupe, it’s far from it. That didn’t rule out any chance of a new Genesis Coupe hitting the lots in the near future.
“It carries the design you will see, it serves as an inspiration for our future sedans,” said Hyundai president and chief design officer Peter Schreyer in an interview with Autoweek at the car’s unveiling.
At first glance, it actually looks like a sleek Bentley, which shows how much effort Hyundai is going with a luxury feel to its vehicles. The car is 16.4 feet long, which makes it much larger than a Genesis Coupe according to Chris Chapman, the head of Hyundai Design Center in Irvine. Not to mention, it’s a two-door sedan with asymmetrical sunrise stitching in the seats.
“A coupe allows you to make something more abstract or accentuated,” Schreyer said in the Autoweek interview. “Like in a fashion show where the models are tall and thin.”
Execs from Hyundai assured all in attendance who saw the car that this will not be in any Hyundai car dealerships anytime soon. So, this won’t be anything you can just drive off the lot. The good news is, your trusted Atlanta area Hyundai dealership has new 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupes in Lithia Springs available to fill the void of how badly you’d like this Hyundai Vision G concept car. But there’s not a lot of time to get sweet 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe lease deals, considering there aren’t that many left in stock. If you can be patient, wait around for the 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe release date and go from there.
